Michelle Klein about biography

Michelle Klein, LC

Lighting Designer / Principal

Like many stories, Michelle’s is one of twists, turns and a combination of life experiences that created her lighting career. Her dad owned an electrical contracting company and used to take her along to job sites. Even as a child, she witnessed first hand the work required to bring lighting to life. This technical side of lighting was balanced with her experience in the theater as a ballerina, where she learned that lighting has the ability to create mood and express emotion. This idea carried into her training as an Architect where she became passionate about human centric design.

After graduating with her Master’s in Architecture, lighting design picked her and she started her career at the internationally awarded Creative Lighting Design & Engineering. It was here she was able to combine her background of emotive lighting from the theater with the design training of architecture to create expressive spaces.

She carried this perspective into the partnership that is Lighting Elements. Michelle continues to utilize her experience to seamlessly integrate lighting into the built environment. She’s passionate about creating spaces that evoke emotion through the thoughtful composition of light and shadow.
